SnapLogic Trademarks

Trademarks are an important tool in assuring the public about the quality of products. Trademarks differ from copyrights or patents. A trademark is a word, phrase, symbol, logo or design, used alone or in combination, that helps identify the origin of a product, including software in the case of SnapLogic.

One of our goals at SnapLogic is to encourage developers to evaluate, adopt and apply our software to their work. The SnapLogic brand provides important assurance to them about the origin and quality of the software they receive. Maintaining our brand requires that we manage our trademarks accordingly, protecting the integrity of our related investment in software development, testing and support. Without control on use of our trademarks, the public might become confused about whether a piece of software comes from SnapLogic or not. We therefore do not permit or consent to any use of our trademarks in ways that are likely to cause confusion in the marketplace. By enforcing our trademarks we better serve the needs of our customers and the Open Source community.

This Trademark Statement explains certain permissions and responsibilities that apply to you in order for you to conform with the SnapLogic trademark policy.

We provide, without charge, the SnapLogic Community distribution under an Open Source license. Because the SnapLogic Community distribution is licensed by us under the GPL version 2, it can be modified by anyone, at any time, so long as they comply with the GPL version 2. However, the GPL version 2 does not grant anyone the right to use SnapLogic trademarks in any manner, even in conjunction with the SnapLogic Community distribution. Unless you first enter into a written agreement with SnapLogic, Inc. for alternative licensing terms, your license to produce and redistribute the SnapLogic Community distribution is subject to the GPL version 2 and the Open Source license under which any incorporated components are provided by SnapLogic to you.

"SNAPLOGIC, "SNAPFORGE", and "DATA INTEGRATION NETWORKS" (the "Marks") are trademarks of SnapLogic, Inc. and except as set forth in this Trademark Statement, they may be used only with SnapLogic, Inc's express written permission. For example, the Marks may not accompany any a) derivative work of the SnapLogic Community distribution; b) collective work that includes the SnapLogic Community distribution; or c) software used as an alternative to the SnapLogic Community distribution. Such use of the Marks would create confusion in the marketplace about the quality and origin of your software and would misrepresent an endorsement by SnapLogic, Inc.

In addition, you may not use any confusingly similar marks on your product, or use the Marks in any manner that might cause confusion, including identification, distribution or promotion of your products.

Nevertheless, under this Trademark Statement, so long as a distribution of the SnapLogic Community distribution faithfully reproduces the software as received from SnapLogic, and so long as it accurately reproduces the SnapLogic trademarks, then this Trademark Statement permits redistribution externally by an organization, provided the organization includes the following statement with each copy redistributed:

"This SnapLogic™ Community distribution does not include support from SnapLogic, Inc. and is subject to terms of the GNU GPL version 2 license, a copy of which is reproduced at http://opensource.org/licenses/gpl-license.php."

In addition to the limited permissions in this Trademark Statement, a certain trademark uses are permitted by law. You should consult an attorney to determine whether your use is applicable to those circumstances. In any event, wherever you use one of the Marks in such case, you must include the following notice any time your own trademarks are similarly attributed: SnapLogic™

'"SNAPLOGIC™" and the SnapLogic logo are trademarks of SnapLogic, Inc.'

Any other use of the Marks or any other arrangement to offer reproductions or downloads of the SnapLogic Community distribution in conjunction with the Marks requires advance written permission from SnapLogic.

This Trademark Statement does not supersede a written separate agreement, if any, between you and SnapLogic, Inc. If you have any questions, we recommend that you seek legal advice from a qualified attorney. We reserve the right to revise this Trademark Statement at any time.
