SnapStore FAQs

What is a Snap?

A Snap is the encapsulation of an integration task or subtask. It is a “pluggable” piece of code that has been conveniently packaged to run seamlessly on the SnapLogic Server. You can build your own Snap or download Snaps built by the SnapStore community. A Snap in SnapLogic is comparable to an iPhone app, a Firefox Add-On, or a PhotoShop plug-in.

A Snap can perform as simple a task as reading data from a file, or as complex an operation as connecting to an instance of Salesforce.com, analyzing the source data, and providing full access (data and functionality) to all standard and custom objects within Salesforce.com. When changes have been made to standard or custom objects, the Snap adapts and provides you access that takes these changes into account.

What is a SnapLogic Pipeline?

A SnapLogic Pipeline is an orchestration of Snaps that solve an integration challenge end to end.

Snaps are “snapped” together via a simple, easy-to-use visual interface, the SnapLogic Designer, that runs in a browser. Snaps can be easily dragged and dropped onto a canvas and connected together without writing any code. For example, a simple pipeline could connect to a source system such as Zuora by using a Zuora Snap, retrieve select data, transform it using a series of functional Snaps, and then write it to a target database using a DBWrite Snap.
