The Role:

SnapLogic has built and developed a world-class product for our customers and are now taking our data and application connector solutions to the next level. As our Senior User Research Manager, you will be responsible for working with the design & product management teams to establish a holistic user research program, focusing on both generative (customer, discovery, co-innovation, etc.), and evaluative (comprehension, accessibility, and usability).
You will be responsible for establishing practices and processes for producing actionable insights that inform, shape, and guide our products ensuring they reflect the needs and abilities of our customers. SnapLogic values its relationships with our customers, in that spirit this role will establish our Customer Co-Innovation Program allowing us to collaborate and jointly develop design and product solutions with our customers.
You will be a hands-on leader, responsible for the user research as you work side-by-side with our product managers and designers to craft end-to-end experiences that enable our customers to discover, understand, and successfully set-up data integration pipelines. You must be able to work and adapt in a fluid, fast-paced environment. And, you must have strong domain knowledge of a range of research methods, human cognition and problem-solving, as well as outstanding communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Over time as this area of our company grows you will be responsible for hiring and mentoring a team of user researchers to help inform and guide our product development.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Work with stakeholders to translate the broader product strategy into an actionable, tactical research planInfluence the product roadmap and strategy.
  • Provide guidance to Junior User Experience Researcher.
  • Advocate for the customer in product & design planning.
  • Know how to use a breadth of research tools to address a wide range of product issues.
  • Responsible for both evaluative and/or generative research projects.
  • Effective at looking back over previous research from multiple sources (whether internal or external) and arrive at a point of view that informs the subject of discussion.
  • Make research results interactive.

What We're Looking For:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in a related field (i.e. Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Human Factors, etc).
  • 8+ years of combined relevant user research and usability experience in B2B and SaaS.
  • Prior management experience leading a research team of 3+ user researchers. 
  • Experience in both evaluative and generative research methods, workshop facilitation, quantitative research, and ethnographic/in situ observation.
  • Experience with guiding user researchers in designing and executing research projects, and communicating research results, to produce impactful customer insights.
  • Strong ability to take research results and convert them into prioritized, actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to develop relationships with company leadership, including engineering development, product management, sales, and marketing.
  • Ability to elevate and prioritize customer feedback insights to influence product strategy and the product roadmap.
  • Successfully applied specialized knowledge of Human Factors/UCD research concepts and techniques to a broad range of consumer products and services.
  • Excellent time management skills, juggling multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively facilitate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Utilization of available internal/external resources to assist with various phases of research.
  • An individual recognized by others as an authority/professional resource in his/her area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of user experience and user research best practices.
