SnapLogic and WaveMaker Partner to Deliver Complete Open Source Enterprise Mashup Solution
SnapLogic Data Integration Framework to Provide Data Services to WaveMaker Visual Ajax Development Platform
SAN FRANCISCO, O’REILLY WEB 2.0 EXPO – Apr 23, 2008 – Today at the O’Reilly Web 2.0 Conference, SnapLogic, Inc., the Really Simple Integration company, and WaveMaker, a provider of open source tools for rapid Web application development, announced a strategic partnership to deliver a complete open source solution for creating enterprise mashups.
Enterprise mashups aggregate data from sources within and outside the enterprise, including databases, SaaS applications, SOA Web services, enterprise applications, XML documents, files and even Web pages, and present it to business users via a rich, customized, highly interactive interface. The SnapLogic™ data integration framework will provide data services to WaveMaker’s Visual Ajax Studio™, enabling enterprise application developers to quickly and easily build powerful enterprise mashups. Under the partnership, the companies will collaborate on product development roadmaps and also conduct joint sales and marketing activities. The SnapLogic data integration framework is available as a free download at www.snaplogic.com. WaveMaker’s Visual Ajax Studio is available as a free download at www.wavemaker.com.
The SnapLogic data integration framework enables “Really Simple Integration,” a new approach to data integration that leverages RESTful Web technology to provide agile data integration solutions for business IT groups. SnapLogic quickly and easily makes data from a wide variety of data sources available to application development tools, such as WaveMaker’s Visual Ajax Studio. WaveMaker’s drag-and-drop interface enables users to create database-driven Ajax Web applications without having to write complex code. The latest WaveMaker platform features significantly reduce development time while enabling increased participation, feedback, and collaboration. Applications developed in WaveMaker can then easily be deployed to a Java Application Server.
“Enterprise mashups include a data services layer, which allows the discovery, access, and manipulation of enterprise data, and a logic-and-presentation layer, which is responsible for creating the rich, interactive interfaces that make mashups truly useful,” said Chris Marino, chief executive officer, SnapLogic. “SnapLogic and WaveMaker have partnered to deliver a powerful, open source solution spanning all layers in a best-of-breed approach.”
At the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco this week, SnapLogic and WaveMaker will be demonstrating a rich internet application that integrates mainframe flat files, CICS applications, and relational data. Using traditional techniques, this kind of application could take weeks to build – with WaveMaker and SnapLogic, the application was built in hours.
“SnapLogic and WaveMaker are enabling the point-and-click development of enterprise Web 2.0 applications,” said Christopher Keene, chief executive officer, WaveMaker. “SnapLogic makes it easy to turn any data source into a Web service, while WaveMaker make it easy to turn any Web service into a Web application – together, we are the dream team for building Rich Internet Applications in the enterprise.”
