SnapLogic has unveiled its support for Model Context Protocol (MCP), bringing universal agent connectivity and orchestration to its generative integration platform. This new support enables SnapLogic customers to accelerate their transformation into intelligent, agentic enterprises through seamless data and tool access across the borders of different software ecosystems.

Why enterprises need a new integration approach for AI agents

AI is everywhere in 2025. But there is still room for even more AI capabilities to be announced every day. This is why the thoughts of CIOs, enterprise architects, and other senior IT leaders are starting to turn to the question of how to coordinate all of this emerging functionality across often disparate IT estates.

New protocols are emerging to address that need, in particular the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that enables Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents to dynamically discover, access, and interact with enterprise tools and services during AI agent execution. Today, SnapLogic is announcing initial support for MCP, with more to come as the protocol itself continues to evolve.

Building on SnapLogic’s strong AI foundation

It is not surprising that SnapLogic should continue to be at the forefront of new developments in AI. After all, our first AI features go back to the launch of IRIS in 2017. That’s so long ago that we still called it “machine learning!” More recently, we were among the first vendors to launch Generative AI support, first with the ChatGPT copilot and then with the GenAI Builder toolkit.

As the early adopters who used these tools in production to accelerate their own AI initiatives shared their initial experiences, we iterated rapidly, culminating in the launch of AgentCreator 3.0 to support the push towards a more agent-based approach to AI.

“The rise of agentic AI demands a new kind of enterprise infrastructure, one that is open, composable, and inherently intelligent. By adding native MCP support to the SnapLogic platform, we’re laying the groundwork for that future. By combining open standards like MCP with our existing graphical development environment and powerful policy governance, we’re giving organisations the building blocks to create AI-native systems that are fast, flexible and secure, empowering them to move beyond simple automation toward systems that can understand, decide and act.”

How MCP works inside the SnapLogic platform

As part of this update, SnapLogic pipelines and APIs managed through SnapLogic APIM 3.0 can now function as MCP servers, ready to be discovered and consumed by AI agents. With built-in REST endpoints, SnapLogic pipelines have always been intrinsically open. This new MCP support extends that openness, enabling effortless communication for AI agents to connect to the tools they need, in order to operate under the MCP specification and transport.

SnapLogic is working to enable enterprises to deploy, manage, and govern MCP servers directly within the SnapLogic platform, securely hosted under their own domain. This future ecosystem will ensure full compliance and visibility, while extending AI capabilities safely and at scale. Today, SnapLogic AI agents can both consume MCP interfaces and be exposed via MCP interfaces. These new capabilities offer organizations unprecedented control and flexibility in how agentic systems are built and orchestrated across multiple platforms.

Laying the groundwork for a fully agentic enterprise future

The open MCP standard, combined with the rapid development capabilities of SnapLogic’s low-/no-code platform, makes all enterprise data instantly accessible for new use cases powered by the latest agentic AI advancements.

By bridging the gap between traditional enterprise systems and the evolving demands of AI, MCP support unlocks a new class of AI-powered experiences. Teams can rapidly compose intelligent, responsive, and fully governed agentic architectures, paving the way for a truly connected enterprise where every service, system, and dataset is available to the next generation of AI technologies. This evolution furthers the original vision of SnapLogic to enable our users to integrate everything and create anything.
