How it works
The agent shown here is built using SnapLogic’s AgentCreator, our low-code platform for building intelligent, modular agents. Under the hood, this SQL Agent uses a multi-agent design with a two-tiered LLM structure to refine queries on the fly, eliminate trial-and-error, and reduce the need for SQL expertise.
Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes:
- Planning Agent – The “head chef” of the operation. It receives the user’s request, evaluates responses, and coordinates subagents in a loop until it lands on a confident answer.
- Query Agent – Converts natural language into SQL queries. If the first result doesn’t match, it automatically generates variations (e.g. wildcard searches or adjusted keywords).
- Execution Agent – Runs the generated queries against your database and returns results to the planning agent for further evaluation.
- Response Agent – Takes the final results and packages them into clear, human-readable responses.
- Pipe Loop Snap – Allows for iterative querying, enabling the agent to retry, adjust, and refine queries as needed—without user intervention.
