OPC UA Snap Pack

The OPC UA Snap Pack enables secure, real-time data exchange between industrial systems and enterprise platforms, bridging OT and IT for smarter operations.

The OPC Unified Architecture (UA) protocol enables secure, bi-directional communication between industrial automation systems. It’s designed to connect modern enterprise systems with factory-floor equipment and sensors.

This Snap Pack brings industrial automation data into enterprise data flows, enabling organizations to bridge operational technology (OT) with IT systems. It supports secure communication, monitoring, and control of industrial equipment.

Top use cases include:

  • Industrial IoT data collection: Continuously read sensor values and machine data for performance monitoring or machine learning applications.
  • Predictive maintenance: Subscribe to specific node changes (e.g., temperature spikes, vibration anomalies) to detect early warning signs of equipment failure.
  • OT-IT integration: Transfer real-time shop-floor data into enterprise platforms like ERPs or data lakes for unified insights.
  • Remote equipment control: Push setpoints or control signals to PLCs and industrial devices from centralized IT applications.

This Snap Pack consists of the following Snaps:

  • OPC UA Read: Reads real-time or historical values from specified nodes on an OPC UA server
  • OPC UA Browse: Navigates and retrieves the node hierarchy of a connected OPC UA server
  • OPC UA Write: Writes values to specified nodes, enabling remote control or command execution
  • OPC UA Subscribe: Subscribes to data changes on selected nodes to enable event-driven processing.
