The Integrator’s Solution for the SMAC Era

The concept of Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) has been gettig a lot of attention lately. Gartner published their first iPaaS Magic Quadrant and Forrester’s Stefan Ried has published new research on Hybrid Cloud Integration. It’s great to see the industry recognize the critical role that the right approach to application and data integration plays in a cloud/SaaS implementation. (I first started blogging on the topic in 2009.)

The bottom lines is that whether you?re running Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, NetSuite or other SaaS applications, you need to ensure they integrate with each other as well as on-premises systems like SAP, Oracle, and Dynamics AX. But the dilemma for many IT organizations is that their legacy integration technologies were built before the era of big data, social, mobile and cloud computing (SMAC) and simply can?t keep up

Here’s a video SnapLogic’s CEO Gaurav Dhillon talking about The Integrator’s Dilemma:

The good news is that there’s a solution. My colleague Maneesh Joshi has written a whitepaper on the topic, which points to the following Integrator’s Solution:

  1. Avoid a Rigid Integration Layer
  2. Focus on Data Streaming
  3. Empower the “Citizen Integrator”

You can download the paper here. Maneesh has also written about the Integrators Dilemma on the SnapLogic blog:
