Busting Through Digital Transformation Roadblocks

Organizations are committed to digital transformation but why are so many struggling to execute their plans and realize the promised benefits?

In our new study, “Busting Through Digital Transformation Roadblocks,” we found that enterprises have high hopes for digital transformation yet 40% are either behind schedule or haven’t started yet, and for those well on their journey, 59% would do it differently if they could start again.

Together with independent research firm Vanson Bourne, we surveyed 500 IT decision-makers representing medium and large businesses with more than 500 employees in the US and UK, to understand how they are approaching digital transformation and what’s holding them back.

Some key findings from our research include:

  • 58% admitted that there is confusion across the organization around what they’re trying to achieve with digital transformation
  • For organizations already on their digital transformation journey, 69% have had to reevaluate their digital transformation strategy
  • Legacy technology or a lack of the right technology is causing problems for 55%, with 31% indicating that data silos are a key barrier
  • 55% noted investment in the right technologies is among the most critical steps to digital transformation success, with 68% seeing AI and machine learning as vital to accelerating key projects
