The December 2023 release of the SnapLogic platform is here! With this release, you can automate your document-centric processes with the new PDF Snap Pack, move data rapidly with Amazon S3 Express One Zone, move data with ease with new sources and destinations in AutoSync, easily generate SnapLogic expressions with SnapGPT enhancements, etc. Let’s take a closer look at the December release highlights.

Automate document-centric processes

Whether you are a small business or a large enterprise, your teams are overwhelmed with documents from customers, vendors, and partners. With the December release, we are introducing a new PDF Snap Pack, that allows you to automate document-centric processes such as invoice processing, PO handling, encrypting/decrypting a PDF, etc.

This Snap Pack provides a set of Snaps that can parse unstructured data document-based PDFs into structured data that can be automatically fed into ERP applications. This reduces the manual work of dealing with PDF invoices or POs for your accounting team and eliminates the chance of error.

Support for low-latency use cases with Amazon S3 Express One Zone

Amazon S3 is the data lake of choice for many organizations but getting data from S3 for real-time use cases is a challenge. With the December release, we are adding support for Amazon S3 Express One Zone, which was announced a few weeks ago at AWS Re:Invent 2023, in our Amazon S3 Snap Pack. Amazon S3 Express One Zone delivers high-performance storage for your most latency-sensitive workloads. With this support, you can leverage this Snap Pack to fetch the most frequently accessed data for your custom applications such as interactive data analytics dashboards and real-time advertising.

Improved support for expressions with SnapGPT

The December release of SnapGPT brings improved support for expressions. When configuring a Snap, you can tell SnapGPT what kind of expression you want to create and it can create one for you. All you have to do is copy and paste it within the intended field. No expertise needed!

Additionally, SnapGPT is now available to organizations in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).

Easily manage allowlists

This release adds new user interfaces so that you can easily manage allowlists for Cloudplexes and Cross-Origin Request Sharing platforms (CORS). With the Cloudplex allowlist, you can define IP addresses from where you want to invoke triggered or Ultra tasks. Similarly, the CORS lists allows you to define a list of valid domains for triggering from an external web page.

New use cases and endpoints in AutoSync

AutoSync now comes with new on-premises endpoints. We have added PostgreSQL as a source and MySQL on-premises as a target so that you can leverage AutoSync’s fully managed pipelines to move operational data from these databases to a central repository. Additionally, we continue to add transformation capabilities in AutoSync, and in the December release, we make it easy for you to replace null values from your source data easily.

Improved API classification of API consumers

Did you know you can group APIs into categories when you publish them to the Developer Portal as an API developer? Well now, as an API consumer, you can also filter these API categories as well. You can now select a category and browse those APIs in that category.  You will also get a count of how many APIs belong to that category.

Authenticate proxies via the Outbound OAuth2 Policy

Also in the December release of API Management is a new API policy for your API proxies. The Outbound OAuth2 Policy dictates how a user authentication flow and tokens are handled when one authenticated app needs to access other protected APIs (backend APIs or systems).

Your team can leverage an OAuth2 Outbound Policy for any API proxy to ensure that only authorized users and applications can access their API resources. You can set specific OAuth2 parameters, such as authorization server endpoints and client credentials, and associate the policy with the outgoing requests through the proxy.
