Key Features of the Fixed Width Reader/Writer Snap
This Snap provides the ability to read data from fixed-width sources. The source can be local files or remote sources served from HTTP or FTP servers.
For reading, if a source has no data or an empty string corresponding to the output field of number type, a null value is produced.
For writing, if an input record field has no data (that is, the value is null), the output will be blank padded to the entire field width. Each record is terminated with a ‘\n’ on non-Windows and ‘\r\n’ on a Windows platform.
